Vendor Questions - Most Asked


Do I Need a Tax ID number? No, The Tax Department will provide tax envelopes which will be given out Sunday morning and returned to us at the end of the show Sunday.  You can not mail them in.  Envelopes have to be returned to us at the end of the show.  The Tax department picks them up from us Sunday.  There will be two envelopes handed out Sunday - one for Bossier Parish tax and the other for LA State tax.  You can get a tax chart when you check in for the show.

Do I need a business License? No you do not need one. 

What is set up time for the "Shop Til You Drop" Shows?  Friday from 2pm-7pm. Vendors can get in the building at 7am Saturday and have to be set up by 9:30am.  Sunday vendors are let in at 10 am.

What are the show hours for the "Shop Til You Drop" Shows?  Sat. 10 am-5pm and Sun. 11am - 4:30pm. 

Do vendors have to pay to get in? No, vendors will receive four vendor passes for the show.  Vendors who allow customers thru the side door or back door will be asked to pack up and leave.  We have to keep an accurate customer count, admission fee also pays for advertising.  Vendor is only hurting themselves by letting family, friends, and coworkers in for free.  If this continues to be a problem then booth rent will have to be increased.

Set up times for the Annual Mistletoe Shows: Set up time for the Bossier Nov. Mistletoe Show will be Thursday 4pm-8pm and on Friday 7am - 8:30 am.

Set up time for the West Monroe Annual Mistletoe Show is Friday 14th from 2pm-7pm and Saturday 7am - 8:30am

I do not process credit cards, can you help me with this?  When you check in for the show you will receive instructions. 

When do I get my booth space number?  When you check in for the show.

Can I get a copy of the floor diagram with vendors that will be there?  We do not give that out  - we do not know until the last minute where some vendors might be placed.

Can I have a list of your vendors that will be at the show?  We have vendors listed on this website. 

How can I pick out my booth space location?  When you become a regular vendor then we will work you in the space you want. 

Do you have an ATM there or a bank near by for change?  There is not an ATM machine at any of our locations.  Please make sure you bring plenty of change, we can not make change for you.  Please do NOT bother the admissions table for change, they are too busy attending the front door.

What is a regular vendor?  When a vendor does three consecutive shows.  Regular vendor then pays for the next months show by 4:00pm Sunday at current show.  Vendor will pay from show to show to keep same spot.  Regular vendors also are elgible to pay deposits for annual shows where the other vendors have to pay in full.

What size are the tables you rent out?  8' long 30" wide - only 2 can fit in a 10 x 10.  Remember to bring your own table clothes.

Can I bring my own tables?  Yes - remember to bring your own table clothes.

Are chairs provided?  For the Bossier City show & West Monroe Show chairs are provided - free of charge.

Do I have to clean up my booth after show?  Yes, there is plenty of trash cans provided at all locations.  Please take care of all your trash at end of show.  If we get charged a clean up fee it will be passed on to the vendor who left the trash in their booth.

Can I get my money back if I am not accepted into your show?  No money will be deposited if you are not accepted.  Your card will not be ran if your not accepted.  Checks will be mailed back if your not accepted.  We would NEVER deposit a vendors money if they were NOT accepted. Please do not apply online without mentioning how you are paying.  List in comment to call for credit/debit card info (if your not comfortable inputing info thru internet)or paying by money order/ check.  We do not accept checks 14 days before a show.  When you do apply online you have seven days to get your money to DPHB Shows.  If we do not receive the money, your application is voided and you will have to apply online & pay by credit card all in the same day to be accepted in the show.  AGAIN, if your not accepted in the show it will cost the vendor NOTHING.  We would never do that to anyone.

Does DPHB Shows provide table cloths?  No, you must bring your own and tables have to be covered.

Will I receive an information packet in the mail?  To keep all costs down (postage) we do everything by email and website.  If you have a question and its not on here feel free to email us.

What happens if the City (Bossier or West Monroe) cancels your show due to facility being a shelter?  All vendors who have paid for the show that the City has canceled will receive a call or email in the event that happens.  Also keep checking our website when you know a hurricane is headed our way, it will be posted on there as soon as we are notified.  Vendors money is rolled over to the next show or any future show that they want to do.  

How do I reserve an RV spot?  Bossier City Civic Center is first come first serve when you check in be sure and see a Bossier City Civic Center worker.  The number to the West Monroe Convention Center is 318-396-5000. 

What hotel do you recommend?  DPHB Shows has really left that up to the vendor.  We got too many calls from vendors about uncomfortable beds - too much noise at the hotel.  We can't control that. In the past Budgetal has given the vendors a discount, that changes on a daily basis but you can give it a try.

 HOTEL INFORMATION:  Tell them you are with the Bossier City Civic Center - Can't promise a discount because they change managers often but at one time we did get a discount at Budgetal.

West Monroe:  You will have to google hotel information.  We do not get a discount anywhere in that area.

What are your prices and measurements of booth spaces?  You can find all that info by clicking on Application on this website.  All prices and booth sizes are listed.

Can I only set up for one day?  Customers do not like to see an empty space and we discourage it, but if you only want to do it one day it is the same price.  Vendors have to be at the November Bossier Show for all three days.

Do you provide Company signs for each booth?  No, vendors must provide their own.  Must be professionally done.  No hand written signage. 

What should I sell?  You need to research that yourself.  Also look into how to display your items.  Knowing how to sell and display is 50% of it. 

What kind of overhead am I looking at if I do your show?  Please consult with another business owner on that question. 

Do you provide a back drop? Backdrops can be rented at the Bossier City Show.  At the West Monroe Show backdrops are provided.

Do you provide extension cords?  Vendor is responsible to bring their own.  Facility workers will securely tape it down.

Do you provide tape, stapler, hole puncher,  and paperclips?  No, you must bring your own.

I decided I do not want to do the show, can I have my money back?  Please read Rules/Information carefully, pick out your dates carefully, there isn't any refunds or show credits. 

How many customers will be there?  This changes from show to show.  Very hard to tell what the customer attendance will be.  The average for our Bossier "Shop Til You Drop" Arts, Craft, and Gift Show is 1100 or more, the Nov. Bossier City show is 4000 or more and the Nov. West Monroe is 2000 or more.  All Fall Shows have a higher attendance.

How many booths will there be?  Bossier City changes from show to show 80 - 236 booths.  West Monroe will only hold 76 booths

What kind of Advertising do you do?  West Monroe:  Email reminders(our customer data base), mail out postcards, faxes, Billboards, newspaper, and Radio - remote included.  Bossier City: Email reminders (our customer data base), faxes, newspaper, billboard, and TV.  Coupons are placed in surrounding hotels and businesses for all shows.  Vendors are provided with an email coupon to forward to their friends, family, and their own customer list.  Road signs are against the beautification Law.

Are you the old Connie Hines Show?  We were vendors of the Hines show for several years and enjoyed every minute of it.  We did not "take over" the Hines show.  Our show started when they quit doing shows.  Vendors have been our family & friends for several years and with their help, we just decided to give it a shot. This is a new show and 2009 will be our 5th year in business.

Is there telephone lines for my credt card machine?  Sorry, there is only one phone line per show and we have tp pay for that line.  Please call your merchant service to see how you can process your credit card sales.  Most vendors have a wireless machine that doesn't require a phone line.
